Diverging equilibration times in long-range quantum spin models.

چکیده
The approach to equilibrium is studied for long-range quantum Ising models where the interaction strength decays like r(-α) at large distances r with an exponent α not exceeding the lattice dimension. For a large class of observables and initial states, the time evolution of expectation values can be calculated. We prove analytically that, at a given instant of time t and for sufficiently large system size N, the expectation value of some observable (t) will practically be unchanged from its initial value (0). This finding implies that, for large enough N, equilibration effectively occurs on a time scale beyond the experimentally accessible one and will not be observed in practice.

Critical behaviour and ultrametricity of Ising spin-glass with long-range interactions
Ising spin-glass systems with long-range interactions (J(r) ∼ r) are considered. A numerical study of the critical behaviour is presented in the non-mean-field region together with an analysis of the probability distribution of the overlaps and of the ultrametric structure of the space of pure states in the frozen phase. Also in presence of diverging thermodynamical fluctuations at the critical...
متن کاملQuantum Spin Glasses
Ising spin glasses in a transverse field exhibit a zero temperature quantum phase transition, which is driven by quantum rather than thermal fluctuations. They constitute a universality class that is significantly different from the classical, thermal phase transitions. Most interestingly close to the transition in finite dimensions a quantum Griffiths phase leads to drastic consequences for va...

Department of Physics & Astronomy Rice University, Houston, TX 77005–1892, USA Department of Physics, The Catholic University of Korea, Bucheon 420-743, Korea Abstract We consider energy relaxation of the long-range spin glass model with sparse couplings, the so-called dilute Sherrington-Kirkpatrick (SK) model, starting from a random initial state. We consider the effect that modularity of the ...
متن کاملThermal negativity in a two qubit XXX and XX spin chain model in an external magnetic field
In this paper we studied the thermal negativity in a two-qubit XX spin ½ chain model and XXX spin1/2 chain model(isotropic Heisenberg model)spin-1/2 chain subjected to an external magnetic field inz direction. We calculate analytical relation for the thermal negativity for two qubit XX and XXX spinchain models in the external magnetic field. Effects of the magnetic field and temperature on then...
